Bristol RI is a port town located on Rhode Island USA, with population around 23,000 and total area approx 53 km2 (21 mi2). Bristol is a deepwater seaport that was named after Bristol England.

Bristol's major industries include manufacturing, tourism, boat building and related marine industries. The school system of the town is united with neighboring Warren. Prominent communities comprise Portuguese-Americans (Luso-Americans), mostly Azorean, as well as Italian-Americans. Bristol shelters Roger Williams University, named for the founder of Rhode Island, Roger Williams (1603-1683).

The southerly terminus of East Bay Bike Path is situated at Independence Park, Bristol Harbor. The path continues to East Providence, constructed on an abandoned railway. This corridor allows to see some of the best Narragansett Bay views. The path is a valued Bristol's commodity and allows bikers, walkers and roller skaters to enjoy the region. The construction of East Bay Bike Path was contested by residents before construction due to the potential of crime. However, it has turned into a welcome asset to the community and anticipated crime is non-existent.

The boat company Herreshoff, based in Bristol, built 5 America's Cup Defenders from 1893 to 1920. Colt Estate, now Colt State Park, was home to Samuel P.Colt, nephew of a man famous for arms company, and founder of US Rubber Company, later named Uniroyal and the nation's biggest rubber company. Colt State Park sits on the manicured gardens that abut the West Passage of Narragansett Bay. It is popular for its beautiful views of the waterfront.

In Bristol is also the Joseph Reynolds House - National Historic Landmark built in 1700. Marquis de Lafayette along with his staff used it as headquarters during the Battle of Rhode Island in 1778. The town has USA's oldest continuously celebrated Independence Day festival. The first mention of the celebration is from July 1777, when a British officer heard sounds from across Narragansett Bay.
