Isla Parida is the largest island in Panama's Chiriquí Gulf National Marine Park, in the Pacific Ocean. The island is a protected area, uninhabited and best known for its wildlife diversity. Among the various species are sea turtles (leatherback and hawksbill), seabirds (tiger herons), green iguanas, howler monkeys, humpback whales, hammerhead sharks, whitetip sharks, manta rays, dolphins, colorful tropical fish. The island also has beautiful beaches.
The 1994-established Marine Park covers a total area of 150 km2 (58 mi2). The protected area includes mangrove swamp, marine meadow, 19 coral reefs, and 25 islands. All islands are covered by tropical forests (cedar, hawthorn, oak).
