Mettlach is a Saar River (Moselle River) cruise port and town in Germany's Saarland state (Merzig-Wadern district), with a population of around 12,000. The town is located approx 7 km (4 mi) northwest of Merzig (district's capital) and approx 30 km (19 mi) south of Trier (near the Germany-Luxembourg border). Mettlach is best known for housing the headquarters of the large ceramics manufacturing company Villeroy+Boch (founded 1748, FY2012 revenue EUR 744 million).
