Porto Belo is an Atlantic Ocean port town in Santa Catarina state (Brazil), located south of Rio de Janeiro. It has a land area of 95 km2 (37 ml2) and population around 30,000. The town is famous for its emerald-green waters, beautiful beaches, great diving opportunities, all-year-round tepid water temperature.

Named for its beautiful harbour and located on a peninsular north of Santa Caterina Island, Porto Belo provides access to Florianapolis (state's capital) and Blumenau (a small piece of Germany in the middle of Brazil).

Tourists may visit the Colonial Family Museum and home of Dr.Blumenau, Glass Park (shopping mall) and Crystal Museum. Cable car at Balneario Camboriu provides a short ride to Atlantic Forest Station with 60 km (37 ml) of eco trails. There are 2 airports serving the region - Florianopolis and Navegantes. Buses are available from Balneario Camboriu, Itajai, Itapema, Florianopolis Tijucas.

Porto Belo is a tender port, meaning cruise ships anchor in the bay and their passengers are transported ashore (to the yacht harbor) via tender boats. There is limited shopping by the tender wharf. Free shuttle bus service to downtown is provided. The main square is full of shops and vendors selling hand-made crafts and other items.
