Pulau Misool Island is one of the 4 major Raja Ampat Islands in West Papua (Indonesia). The island has land area approx 2034 km2 (785 ml2), highest elevation point 561 m (1841 ft) and two main towns - Waigama (port on the northern coast) and Lilinta (south-central inland).
Other main Raja Ampat Islands located off West Papua's western coast are Batanta, Salawati and Waigeo. Misool Island was part of Dutch East Indies colony (1816-1949). During WW2 (1939-1945), in 1942-45 Misool was occupied by Japan, having a Navy base built here.
Misool Eco Resort is a premium dive resort located on a private island fringed with white powder-sand beaches and pristine coral reefs. The resort island is located just off Pulau Batbitim's northeastern coast.
