Shwe Pyi Thar is an Irrawaddy River cruise port and town in Myanmar (Burma), famous for its production of sweet jaggery candy from palm sap.
Shwepyitha Township is in the northwestern part of Yangon. The township comprises 15 wards and 5 villages. It shares borders with Mingaladon Township (east), Yangon River (west_, Htantabin Township (north) and Insein Township (south).
Shwepyitha was incorporated into Yangon City in 1986, but is still undeveloped and lacks some basic municipal services. The township features 43 primary schools, 3 middle schools and 4 high schools.
The Hong Kong (China)-based company Baolaixin Industry Development was Burma's first to start production of hang tags and labels for garments. The factory is in Shwe Pyi Thar Township (Yangon) and is equipped to produce various types of transfer print.
