The list of MS Nieuw Statendam cabins includes a total of 912 balcony accommodations (164 Suites and 748 Balcony staterooms), meaning that 69% of all passenger rooms feature a private veranda. The other cabin types include 147 Oceanview staterooms and 280 Interior cabins (without windows). In total, there are 35 cabin categories, including 27 wheelchair-accessible staterooms.

The ship also offers 12 Oceanview Studio cabins (single-occupancy, designed for solo travelers) and 32 Family Oceanview cabins (quintuple accommodations for up to 5 guests).

The largest accommodations are the Penthouses/Pinnacle Suites (Deck 7). These PS-Pinnacle Suites feature a separate bedroom (king-size bed, premium bedding, bedside USB port), master bathroom (oversized whirlpool/shower, additional shower stall, oversized towels, luxury bathrobes, slippers), living room (2-person sofa bed, premium sound system, data port), dining room (6-seat dining table, pantry, mini-bar/fridge, microwave), guest toilet (powder room/half bath), large walk-in closet (with vanity table and chair), and dressing room (with magnifying makeup mirror). Floor-to-ceiling windows open onto a private sundeck with a whirlpool hot tub and a 4-seat dining table.

Neptune Suites (SA, SB, SC, SQ-Spa) include two lower beds convertible to a king-size bed, a bathroom (dual-sink vanity, full-size whirlpool/shower, separate shower cubicle, oversized towels, luxury bathrobes, slippers), and a sitting area with floor-to-ceiling windows opening onto a private sundeck (aft wraparound terrace with a 4-seat dining table).

Signature Suites/Mini-Suites (SS, SY) include two lower beds convertible to a king-size bed, one 1-person Murphy bed (pull-down wall bed), a bathroom (dual-sink vanity, oversized towels, full-size whirlpool/shower, separate shower stall), sitting area (mini-bar), and floor-to-ceiling windows opening onto a step-out balcony.

Vista Suites (AS, A, B, BC) include two lower beds convertible to a queen-size bed, bathroom (WC/shower, oversized towels), sitting area (mini-bar), and floor-to-ceiling windows opening onto a private step-out balcony.

Verandah/Balcony staterooms (V, VQ, VS, VA, VB, VC, VD, VE, VF, VH) include two lower beds convertible to a queen-size bed, a bathroom (WC/shower), sitting area, and floor-to-ceiling windows opening onto a private step-out balcony.

Oceanview staterooms (D, C, CQ, E, F, FA, FB, OO) and Inside cabins (I, IQ, J, K, L, N) include two lower beds convertible to a queen-size bed and a bathroom (WC/shower).

Spa cabins include the following categories: SQ (Neptune Spa Suite), VQ (Verandah Spa), CQ (Oceanview Spa), and IQ (Inside Spa). The ship also offers 12 single cabins available at single-occupancy rates.

A unique feature for a Holland America ship is the set of 32 Oceanview Family cabins (categories FA-FB) accommodating up to 5 guests. Sizes range from 222 to 231 ft² (21 m²), depending on deck location. These family staterooms include two bathrooms—one large (bathtub/shower, WC, sink) and one small (shower, sink). The 2-bathroom layout is a newer Holland America concept first introduced on Disney Cruise Line ships.
