Review of Avalon Myanmar deck 2 (Mandalay)
Mandalay Deck layout starts with the outdoor observation lounge. As furniture, this place has several small tables with chairs and padded premium lounge chairs for relaxation.
Next is the “Panorama Lounge & Bar” which is the Myanmar ship’s entertainment venue. It has a full-service bar with premium spirits, self-serve beverage station. The Main Lounge offers live evening show program by local artists and dancers performing on the boat (Burmese puppet show, dancers, musicians). Depending on the visited ports along the Avalon Myanmar itinerary, the Panorama Lounge also hosts Burma culture and history related lectures and multimedia presentations by local guest speakers. Other entertainment options at the Lounge are Afternoon Tea service, cocktail hours (with hot-cold hors d’oeuvres), movie nights.
Complimentary specialty coffees/teas and soft drinks, along with local beers and spirits are offered throughout the day at the Panorama Bar.
In the Lobby area are located the Reception Desk (24-hour assistance, information) and the Cruise Director Office (tours/excursions booking, daily activities information).
Mandalay Deck cabins are from 201 to 206, all of which French Balcony Panorama Suites category A.
With Aft location are the Dining Room and the adjacent Galley / Kitchen. The Myanmar boat’s Dining Room operates with an open-seating arrangement. The menu features a nice selection of local cuisine specialties (based on season, with fresh local ingredients) and also of popular Western dishes. Breakfasts and lunches here are buffet-style, while the 4-course dinner is served (still no table reservations needed). Dinner also includes complimentary wine, beer, and soft drinks.
