MS De Amsterdam (built in 1991 as “Clara Schumann”, renamed “Viking Schumann” in 2011, and last refurbished in 2017) was one of two Viking Cruises ships operating on the Elbe River, along with her sistership Viking Fontane (now Junker Jorg). The vessel was named after the German concert pianist and composer Clara Schumann (1819–1896), wife of composer Robert Schumann (1810–1856).
The De Amsterdam cruise ship features a deck plan with 56 staterooms accommodating up to 112 passengers, served by a crew of 30. The vessel has three passenger decks, one sauna, and one elevator. There is no gym, pool/whirlpool, or spa onboard.
