Mitsui Ocean Fuji (2009-built as Seabourn Odyssey, last refurbished in 2024 by MOL and previously in 2022 by Seabourn) is the first of the three oldest Seabourn ships, followed by her sisterships Seabourn Quest and Seabourn Sojourn. Odyssey became Seabourn’s oldest vessel after Windstar Cruises acquired the former Seabourn ships Seabourn Legend (now Star Legend), Seabourn Pride (now Star Pride), and Seabourn Spirit (now Star Breeze). The ship was designed by Norwegian architects Petter Yran and Bjørn Storbraaten (Y&S architectural firm). Seabourn vessels are renowned for having some of the largest and most luxurious spa complexes at sea.
In March 2023, Carnival Corporation—the parent company of Seabourn—sold the 14-year-old Seabourn Odyssey to the Japanese shipping company MOL (Mitsui O.S.K. Lines Ltd). As part of the agreement, Seabourn signed a time-charter contract with MOL, allowing the company to continue operating Odyssey’s scheduled voyages through October 11, 2024.
The Mitsui Ocean Fuji (formerly Seabourn Odyssey) deck plan features 225 all-suite staterooms accommodating 450 passengers (maximum capacity 540) and served by 330 crew. The ship has 11 decks (10 accessible to passengers, 7 with accommodations), 3 restaurants, 10 lounges and bars, 2 swimming pools, 6 outdoor Jacuzzis, and 6 elevators. There are no self-service laundry facilities onboard.
Seabourn ships belong to the industry’s ultra-luxury category and operate on an all-inclusive basis. All dining venues, beverages (including premium alcohol), and onboard services are included in the cruise fare.
