Celebrity Cruises drops COVID vaccination requirement for passengers under 18 on European sailings

Celebrity Cruises dropped its vaccination requirements for guests 17 years old and under.

A recent update on the company's website shows that unvaccinated kids & teens have the option to either bring a negative COVID test result taken within 1 day of sailing or get tested for COVID at the cruise ship terminal.

In Europe, Celebrity currently sails from ports including Southampton (England UK), Civitavecchia-Rome (Italy), Barcelona (Spain), Amsterdam (Netherlands), and Piraeus-Athens (Greece).

All guests 18+ years of age must still be vaccinated on Celebrity voyages in Europe.

Celebrity Cruises was the first major North American line to restart service from Europe in summer 2021 when Celebrity Apex set sail from Greece in June. Just a week later, Celebrity Edge was the first to start operation from Florida.

The news comes around the same time as the US government’s recent COVID change, which no longer requires that those on an international flight to the USA present a negative COVID test or documentation of recovery to enter the country.
