Godmother announced for Emerald Cruises' newest ship Emerald Sakara

Kelly Craighead (CLIA's President and CEO/Cruise Lines International Association) has been selected to serve as the godmother of Emerald Sakara - the second new superyacht of Emerald Cruises - set for launch in August 2023.

The naming ceremony is scheduled for December 2, 2023, in San Juan Puerto Rico.

Craighead, who has over 20 years of experience in executive leadership in private and public sectors, represents a growing community of cruise lines, travel trade members, and industry stakeholders. Under her leadership, CLIA has focused on promoting a sustainable cruise industry and worked hard during the COVID crisis to ensure a safe return to operations. In addition to her role at CLIA, Craighead is also the Vice Chair and Executive Director of the Cruise Industry Charitable Foundation.

Like the sistership Emerald Azzurra, Emerald Sakara has max capacity 100 passengers and 64 staff/crew, 7 decks and 50 staterooms. Each of the superyachts has an infinity pool, modern wellness complex (spa and gym) and an aft Marina platform serving watersports activities/toys, including paddleboards and snorkeling equipment.

Emerald's signature inclusive pricing will cover all onboard meals, complimentary beer, wine, and soft drinks at lunch and dinner, as well as a range of excursions and onboard activities.
