Following a lengthy drydock refit at the Damen ship repair yard (in Brest France), CFC Renaissance of Compagnie Francaise de Croisieres/CFC Cruises has entered service.

The ship that started her life as Maasdam of HAL-Holland America Line back in 1993 sailed for her first cruise for the new French owner on June 29th from Le Havre. This will take the vessel to ports in the British Isles.

The 1993-built CFC Renaissance cruise ship (fka "MS Maasdam"/HAL and "Aegean Myth"/SEAJETS) was the second Statendam (S-class) liner of Holland America Line, with sisterships MS StatendamMS Ryndam and MS Veendam.

In July 2020, MS Maasdam was sold to SeaJets Ferries (Greece) and renamed "Aegean Myth". In August 2022, Aegean Myth was sold to CFC (Compagnie Francaise De Croisieres) and after ~EUR/USD 10 million drydocking was renamed "MS Renaissance".

During the Coronavirus crisis, SeaJets' cruise ships (5x units) remained docked in Greece (Aigio and Piraeus-Athens).
