Due to the increasing demand for Douro sailings, Riviera River Cruises UK/fleet has announced the addition of a third ship - named Porto Mirante, in Portugal in 2024.
Porto Mirante will offer 10 departures of the new 8-day "Highlights of the Douro Valley and Salamanca River Cruise" itinerary, which will take place from July to October 2024. The new riverboat will complement the existing Douro Elegance and Douro Splendour, both of which are currently operating Riviera Travel's 8-day "Douro, Porto, and Salamanca River Cruise" itinerary.
The new itinerary starts and ends in Oporto Portugal (homeport) and features a guided tour of Oporto's Old Town, a visit to Quinta da Pacheca (with dinner and wine tasting), a bus tour to Castelo Rodrigo (12th-century walled village/from Barca d'Alva) and a tour of Salamanca Spain/from Vega de Terron, with a traditional flamenco show during lunch.
For Riviera Travel, Porto Mirante will offer 59 cabins, accommodating up to 118 guests. Onboard facilities will include an Atrium Bar and Lounge with floor-to-ceiling windows, a restaurant, a fitness center, and a sundeck with a sky lounge, bar, and splash pool.
Prices for the Highlights of the Douro Valley and Salamanca River Cruise will start at US$2849 per person with double occupancy.
Notably, like all of Riviera Travel's 2024 itineraries, guests will automatically receive the Superior Drinks package.
