SAGA's Spirit of Adventure ship forced to divert to Cornwall due to Storm Ciaran

   November 5, 2023 ,   Accidents

Last week, adverse weather conditions associated with Storm Ciaran forced the SAGA UK's ship Spirit of Adventure to alter course and dock in Falmouth, Cornwall England on November 1st.

The vessel was originally en route to Funchal Madeira from Portsmouth when it made an unexpected detour.

Storm Ciaran, which was anticipated to bring winds exceeding 80 mph (129 kmph) to the UK, prompted the diversion.

The 14-deck boutique ship Spirit of Adventure was carrying ~900 passengers at the time of the diversion.

The decision to seek shelter in Falmouth was a precautionary measure ahead of the storm's arrival, which was expected to impact already saturated areas.
