Windstar Cruises, following its inaugural Mediterranean winter season, has revealed plans to extend Star Legend ship's presence in the region for an additional winter season, offering travelers year-round opportunities to explore Southern Europe.
Positive feedback and heightened demand have prompted the luxury small-ship company to enhance its winter Mediterranean deployment for 2024-2025. Responding to passengers' preferences, including more overnight stays, Windstar will introduce 5 itineraries and 3 special holiday and event sailings for the 2025 season.
Key Highlights for 2024-2025 Itineraries include:
- Winter Italy & the Dalmatian Coast (8 days, 5 sail dates in 2024-2025) Route: Rome to Venice, with stops in Naples, Taormina (Sicily), an overnight in Dubrovnik (Croatia), a full day in Zadar (Croatia), and ending with an overnight in Venice.
- Europe Winter Riviera (7 days, 8 departure dates) Route: Rome to Barcelona, with an overnight stay in Livorno (Italy), a day in Genoa, a day in Nice (France), and ending with an overnight in Barcelona.
- Winter in Italy and the Adriatic (8 days, 1 sail date) Route: Athens to Rome, passing through the Corinth Canal to Itea (Delphi), an overnight in Corfu, stops in Crotone (Italy) and Taormina (Sicily), a day in Naples, and concluding the journey in Rome.
- Southern Spain Winter Escapes (9 days, 4 departure dates) Route: Roundtrip from Barcelona, with an overnight in Barcelona, followed by stops in Valencia, Cartagena, an overnight in Malaga, Gibraltar (U.K.), Palma, and returning to Barcelona.
- Winter in Croatia & Greece (8 days, March 26, 2025) Route: Venice to Athens, with an overnight in Venice, port calls in Koper (Slovenia), Zadar and Dubrovnik (Croatia), Kotor (Montenegro), Delphi (Greece), and a transit of the Corinth Canal.
Special Holiday and Event Sailings:
- Christmas Holiday Cruise (December 23-30, 2024): Rome to Barcelona, including an overnight in Livorno for Christmas Eve mass, stops in Genoa and Nice, and concludes in Barcelona with an overnight stay.
- New Year’s Cruise (December 30, 2024-January 8, 2025): roundtrip from Barcelona, featuring an overnight in Palma, Mallorca, for New Year’s Eve celebrations, followed by stops in Cartagena, an overnight in Malaga, Gibraltar (U.K.), Valencia, and returning to Barcelona.
In addition, Star Legend will make a special appearance at the International Luxury Travel Market Cannes travel expo in December 2024, sailing from Rome to Barcelona (November 30-December 7, 2024), with stops in Livorno, Genoa, Cannes (overnight), and Barcelona (overnight). Cannes conference attendees will have the opportunity for ship visits during the event.
