P&O Cruises has confirmed the cancellation of a 35-night Caribbean cruise originally scheduled to depart from Southampton aboard MS Ventura on January 4, 2027. The itinerary, which included planned calls at Bridgetown (Barbados), St. George’s (Grenada), and Willemstad (Curaçao), has been withdrawn due to unspecified operational considerations.
Guests were informed of the cancellation via email and have been offered automatic rebooking onto a similar sailing, cruise G701, aboard the vessel Iona. The company has expressed regret for the disruption and indicated that impacted passengers will also receive compensation options, including full refunds or future cruise credits.
This latest schedule revision follows a series of itinerary changes and cancellations across the P&O fleet. In recent months, the company cancelled a 14-night cruise on Iona, previously scheduled to depart on August 30, 2026, as well as two October 2025 sailings due to an unplanned refurbishment of the same vessel. In a separate incident, a short voyage from Southampton to Zeebrugge aboard Aurora was cancelled at short notice in April 2024 after delays in completing a shipyard refit.
A P&O spokesperson stated that while itinerary changes are sometimes unavoidable, P&O aims to accommodate guests by offering alternative options where feasible. Ventura will now operate three newly designed itineraries, scheduled to go on sale from June 4th, 2025.
