One year has passed since the cruise vessel Mein Schiff 7 entered service on June 22, 2024. Constructed at the Meyer Turku shipyard in Finland, the 111,500-ton vessel was the final ship in the original Mein Schiff series delivered to TUI Cruises over the course of a decade, from 2014 to 2024.

The christening of Mein Schiff 7 took place during the 2024 Kiel Week festivities, during a 2-day celebration cruise. The vessel sailed through the Danish South Sea before arriving in the Kiel Fjord, where the naming ceremony was held. Environmental officer Fenia Kalachani was selected as the vessel’s godmother, and she conferred the ship’s name during a formal ceremony that featured a light show and fireworks display.

Tailored for the premium German-speaking market, Mein Schiff 7 commenced operations with voyages in Northern Europe, homeporting in Kiel for the summer season. Its initial itineraries included cruises to the Norwegian fjords, Iceland, and the Baltic Sea, often sailing in tandem with its sister ship, Mein Schiff 1.

In early 2025, the fleet began its transition to a new generation of ships, starting with Mein Schiff Relax, constructed by Fincantieri in Italy. Another vessel, Mein Schiff Flow, is scheduled to join the fleet in 2026.

Now marking its first year in service, Mein Schiff 7 is navigating a commemorative 14-day voyage north of the Arctic Circle. Departing from Kiel, the anniversary sailing includes calls at Haugesund, Geiranger, Hellesylt, Longyearbyen, Honningsvag, Tromsø, Trondheim, and Alesund, before returning to its homeport on June 29, 2025.
