Silversea has concluded its 2025 Arctic season after deploying Silver Endeavour from May through September across remote sectors of the High Arctic, including Svalbard, Greenland, and Arctic Canada. For the first time, Silver Endeavour ended the season by navigating the Northwest Passage, sailing from Nuuk Greenland to Nome Alaska.
The vessel departed from Leith (Edinburgh) on May 25th, proceeding through itineraries that embraced the Canadian Arctic, Greenland, and Svalbard. Wildlife encounters included beluga whales in the Churchill River estuary, polar bears in Nunavut and Svalbard, and large nesting colonies of Brünnich’s guillemots at Cape Wolstenholme. Guests also experienced displays of the Aurora Borealis, took guided hikes with bear monitors, and conducted ice-edge expeditions.
Silver Endeavour is built to PC6 polar class standards and is supported by a team of up to 28 expedition experts—biologists, geologists, naturalists, historians—along with a fleet of Zodiacs for shore access.
Silversea has indicated that in 2026 its Arctic program will expand to 21 voyages, with Silver Endeavour and Silver Wind scheduled to traverse further northern destinations, such as Longyearbyen, Reykjavik, and Tromsø.
