Fincantieri has completed and delivered Star Princess, the second vessel in Princess Cruises’ Sphere-Class series. The ship is scheduled to enter service on October 4th, 2025 with an inaugural Mediterranean voyage departing from Barcelona.
As with her sister ship Sun Princess, the vessel is powered by liquefied natural gas, advancing the line’s program to reduce emissions across its fleet. Propulsion is provided through twin Azipod units capable of 360-degree maneuvering, supported by four large controllable-pitch bow thrusters to ensure precise handling in port operations.
The Star Princess measures 177,800 gross tons and has a capacity for 4,300 guests. Passenger facilities include 30 dining and bar venues, an expanded entertainment program, and a range of accommodations such as Sanctuary Collection suites, mini-suites, and balcony staterooms. More than 1,500 of these staterooms are equipped with private balconies.
Key public areas include The Dome, designed as a multifunctional space for both relaxation and performance; The Arena, serving as the main theatre; The Piazza, featuring curved architectural elements and ocean-facing views; and Spellbound by Magic Castle, a speakeasy-style venue created in partnership with Hollywood’s Magic Castle.
Following her delivery, Star Princess will operate itineraries in the Mediterranean before repositioning to the Caribbean, the Panama Canal, and Alaska.
