Celebrity Cruises has revised a series of upcoming itineraries, removing calls at Labadee, Haiti, from select sailings scheduled throughout 2025 and 2026. The adjustments affect eleven itineraries, primarily involving the Celebrity Apex and Celebrity Beyond, both of which had previously included the northern Haitian port on their Caribbean routes.
The company informed guests that the decision was made to enhance the overall cruise experience and confirmed that alternative destinations would be substituted for the canceled port calls. Depending on the itinerary, Labadee will be replaced with visits to Turks and Caicos, Grand Cayman, or Cozumel, Mexico. Guests booked on the affected sailings have been notified of the changes, and the updated itineraries are now available on Celebrity’s official website.
Prior to these revisions, Celebrity Cruises offered a range of 28 shore excursions in Labadee, including snorkeling, coastal cruises, fishing, and ziplining. The port served as a frequent stop for Caribbean sailings that also included Key West, the Bahamas, and Royal Caribbean’s private island, Perfect Day at CocoCay.
Labadee is a private resort area owned by Royal Caribbean International and accessible only to ships operated by the Royal Caribbean Group, which also owns Celebrity Cruises. The modification to Celebrity’s itineraries follows a similar decision by Royal Caribbean to suspend visits to Labadee through at least April 2026.
The itinerary adjustments align with continuing travel advisories concerning Haiti. The U.S. Department of State currently classifies the country under its highest advisory level—Level Four—warning citizens not to travel there due to security concerns. The advisory, updated in July 2025, cites widespread criminal activity, including armed robbery, carjackings, sexual assault, and kidnappings, and notes that Haiti has remained under a State of Emergency since March 2024.
In response to these developments, cruise operators within the Royal Caribbean Group have continued to evaluate and modify itineraries in the region, prioritizing guest safety and operational stability while maintaining access to alternative Caribbean destinations.
