RCG-Royal Caribbean Group has introduced a new financial partnership with Bank of America that extends the company’s loyalty ecosystem beyond the ships themselves. The two organizations have announced the forthcoming launch of the Royal ONE Visa Signature and Royal ONE Plus Visa Signature credit cards, the cruise sector’s first tri-branded payment products designed to operate across three cruise lines within the group: RCI-Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises and Silversea.
The new cards are expected to become available in the coming weeks and form part of the company’s broader effort to reshape how loyalty rewards are earned and redeemed. The program allows travelers to accumulate points through both everyday purchases and vacation spending with the three cruise brands, creating a unified rewards structure across the group’s portfolio.
Within the company’s leadership, the initiative has been described as a continuation of a multi-year effort to modernize the group’s loyalty framework. Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Jason Liberty indicated that the Royal ONE cards were intended to strengthen the company’s ability to recognize repeat guests across its brands. He noted that the new program brings together the various ways travelers vacation within the Royal Caribbean Group family, enabling them to accumulate and redeem rewards more easily while increasing the value associated with each voyage.
Two versions of the card will be offered. The Royal ONE credit card carries no annual fee and is positioned as a flexible rewards option for travelers seeking to accumulate points through everyday spending. Cardholders earn enhanced points on purchases with Royal Caribbean, Celebrity Cruises and Silversea, along with additional multipliers for categories such as groceries, fuel and electric-vehicle charging. Travel benefits linked to the card include priority boarding on selected sailings, an anniversary reward after qualifying spending, Visa Signature travel protections and the absence of foreign transaction fees.
The Royal ONE Plus credit card, which carries an annual fee, is structured for frequent cruisers seeking higher reward rates and additional travel privileges. The card offers a larger points multiplier on purchases with the cruise brands, along with expanded earning categories that include travel and dining. Additional benefits include priority suite boarding for voyages with Royal Caribbean, Celebrity Cruises and Silversea, priority luggage handling on certain sailings, an increased anniversary reward and a periodic credit covering TSA PreCheck or Global Entry enrollment.
Bank of America has characterized the collaboration as an extension of its long-standing relationship with the cruise group. Lora Monfared, who oversees consumer card products at the bank, suggested that offering both a no-annual-fee card and a higher-tier rewards product would give travelers more flexibility in how they accumulate points while expanding the ways those rewards can be used.
The Royal ONE program itself is designed to integrate with the group’s expanding loyalty structure, which also includes initiatives such as Points Choice and cross-brand status matching. Under the new system, accumulated points can be applied toward cruise fare discounts or onboard experiences including specialty dining, shore excursions, beverage packages and internet access.
