Princess Cruises has outlined its most extensive Asian deployment to date, combining its 2027 and 2028 Southeast Asia sailings with its 2028 Japan season into a single deployment of notable scale.
The Asian schedule encompasses 96 departures across 61 itineraries, calling at 55 destinations in 9 countries.
The program marks the first occasion on which both Diamond Princess and Sapphire Princess will be homeported in Yokohama/Tokyo for an entire season, providing a broader range of embarkation options and reinforcing Japan’s role as a central hub within the deployment. Voyages have been arranged to coincide with key seasonal periods, including cherry blossom and autumn foliage, while extended port calls and overnight stays are intended to allow for more comprehensive engagement with destinations.
The Japan schedule comprises 85 departures across 52 itineraries, ranging from 1 to 4 weeks in duration. These sailings include calls at major ports and access to a wide selection of cultural and historical sites, including UNESCO-listed locations. Scheduling has been aligned with prominent festivals such as those held in Aomori, Hakodate, Kochi and Osaka, enabling passengers to experience events that are typically beyond the reach of standard itineraries.
In parallel, the Southeast Asia program extends the scope of the deployment through longer itineraries linking multiple regions. A series of voyages of up to 28 days will connect Japan, Korea and Southeast Asian countries. Options include roundtrips from Singapore and repositioning cruises between Japan and Southeast Asian homeports.
The company’s commercial leadership indicated that the programme had been structured to reflect evolving passenger expectations, with a greater emphasis placed on cultural immersion, regional cuisine and extended time ashore. It was noted that the combination of festival-timed itineraries in Japan and longer, multi-country voyages in Southeast Asia was intended to provide a level of depth and regional coverage not previously offered within a single deployment.
Taken together, the schedules illustrate a strategic focus on Asia as a growth market, combining increased capacity with a broader range of itineraries designed to accommodate both destination-focused travel and longer, interconnected voyages across the region.
