Celebrity Cruises has increased its automatic daily gratuities for all guests, with the revised rates taking effect immediately from July 29th, 2026.
The cruise line advised booked guests that the daily service charges support the crew members who contribute to the onboard experience, including teams working in dining, bars, culinary operations, housekeeping and other guest service departments.
Under the revised policy, guests staying in Inside, Ocean View and Veranda staterooms will pay US$19.50 per person, per day, up from US$18.00. The daily gratuity for Concierge Class and AquaClass accommodation has increased from US$19.00 to US$20.50 per person, while guests staying in The Retreat suites will now pay US$24.50 per person, per day, compared with the previous US$23.00.
The adjustment represents an increase of US$1.50 per person, per day across all accommodation categories.
As with most major cruise operators, Celebrity Cruises automatically posts the gratuity to guests' onboard accounts unless it has been prepaid before the voyage. The daily service charge remains separate from the automatic gratuities applied to beverages, spa services and certain other onboard purchases.
Because the revised rates became effective on the day they were announced, guests who had not prepaid their gratuities before July 29th are generally expected to be charged under the new pricing structure. Those who settled gratuities in advance are expected to retain the previous rates.
The increase follows a similar adjustment introduced by Holland America Line in June 2026, when the company raised its daily gratuities to US$18.00 per person for standard staterooms and US$20.00 for suites.
Celebrity Cruises' sister brand, Royal Caribbean International, has not announced any changes to its gratuity policy. Its current daily service charges remain at US$18.50 per person for standard staterooms and US$20.50 for suites, rates that have been in effect since October 2024.
Although gratuity policies are established independently by each cruise brand, pricing changes introduced by one operator within Royal Caribbean Group have historically been followed by similar adjustments elsewhere in the group's portfolio, making Celebrity Cruises' latest revision one that will be closely monitored across the cruise industry.
