The highlight of Hamburg Cruise Days 2017 was the biggest in the history of the event Grand Hamburg Cruise Days Parade, even without one of the planned 6 cruise ships (due to a technical problem, Mein Schiff 3 was not able to sail in the parade).
On Saturday, September 9, around 250,000 spectators flocked to the event site to watch as the gigantic vessels manoeuvred on Elbe River to get into position for the parade. At 9:15 p.m., when the formation was complete, the parade started. AIDAprima, Norwegian Jade, ms EUROPA 2, ms EUROPA and MSC Preziosa, escorted by barges, sailing and passenger ships, majestically sailed down the river against the backdrop of Blue Port Hamburg. Each of the ships was waved off with its own firework display.
