Vard to Build Small Cruise Ship for Coral Expeditions

Vard Holdings won a contract to build a small cruise ship for the based in Australia expedition cruise operator Coral Expeditions (operating Coral Expeditions 1, Coral Expeditions 2 and Coral Discoverer).

The ship (Coral Adventurer) is specially designed for expedition cruises to exotic destinations across Asia-Pacific.

The value of the contract is USD 75 million. The newbuild is to be 93.5-meter-long and able to accommodate 120 passengers.

According to the Singapore-listed shipbuilder the ship environment is geared for daily lectures, briefings and shore expeditions, "with high standards of comfort and care".

The ship is slated to be delivered from Vietnam's Vard Vung Tau in the first quarter of 2019.
