   July 9, 2019 ,   Cruise Industry

Port of Tyne reconfigured part of its International Passenger Terminal, North Shields, close to Newcastle upon Tyne, in order to create a brand new baggage handling facility for Marella Cruises (UK-based brand/subsidiary company of TUI AG).

Converting 300 m2 (3230 ft2) of space at the terminal created extra capacity for 1000 bags plus 382 new parking lots and a 10x30 m (33x98 ft) marquee/tent as covered outdoor baggage handling facility. Clients will be able to drop off bags, which will be quickly security-checked and loaded onto the ship, before heading to a dedicated car parking to make the embarking process faster and more efficient.
