Port Portland (UK) welcomed AIDAura on Thursday, July 18. As well as the usual staff, guests' every need is attended to by company's team of robots. AIDA rolled out the latest humanoid cyborg technology 'Pepper robots' back in 2016. These robots are mobile and communicate in 3 languages (English, German, Italian) and can interpret human emotions via analyzing facial expressions and voice tones.
Pepper robots guide travelers upon embarkation and assist them throughout the voyage by providing tips and information on onboard dining, entertainment, casino, enrichment programs, shopping promotions, and shore excursions.
AIDAaura passengers may choose from several shore trip options. For example, on Grand Cayman Island, they could try horseback riding, scuba diving, snorkeling, parasailing, or there is an option to spend time on shopping trips as well as visit the island's beaches.
Portland Port has a total of 8 AIDA cruise ships scheduled to call in 2019.
