The transformed Carnival Sunrise arrived on Monday, October 28, in her new homeport of Fort Lauderdale FL, to launch a schedule of 4- and 5-day Caribbean and Bahamas voyages from Port Everglades.

Yesterday’s cruise, a sold-out 5-day cruise to Ocho Rios Jamaica and Grand Cayman Island, marked the first of nearly 40 departures out of Fort Lauderdale through May 2, next year. The inaugural call at Port Everglades was marked with a maritime plaque exchange with US government and port officials, as well as an onboard coctail reception and lunch for local dignitaries and travel agents.

Sunrise debuted earlier in 2019 after an extensive USD 200 million drydock reconstruction - part of Carnival's USD 2 billion fleetwide enhancement program.

Carnival's 4-day “long weekend” sailings will visit tropical cruise ports like Half Moon Cay, Grand Turk, Nassau, and Princess Cays, while 5-day trips will visit seaside destinations in Jamaica, Grand Cayman, Grand Turk, and The Bahamas.
