BALEARIA's subsidiary Balearia Caribbean relaunched cruiseferry services from Fort Lauderdale Florida to The Bahamas.

The South Florida-based company runs regular services from homeport Port Everglades (Fort Lauderdale) to Bahamian destinations like Bimini and Freeport. Balearia Caribbean offers 3 weekly crossings with Florida departures on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.

Balearia relaunched its crossings with a host of new health and safety protocols, such as electronic boarding passes, mandatory face masks, enforced social distancing, temperature checks before boarding.

The company’s vessels undergo “deep and extensive sanitation” prior to, during, and after each trip, Balearia said.

Balearia Caribbean has been certified by Bureau Veritas with a Global Safe Site Covid-19 certificate and is currently one of the first shipping companies to receive the designation.

All travelers to The Bahamas have to fill out an electronic travel form and have proof of a negative COVID test that is no more than 7 days old, among other requirements.
