Viking River Cruises announced it will be launching a new riverboat in 2022.

Viking Aton will have 5 decks (3 with cabins), 41 staterooms and max passenger capacity 82.

The vessel will be part of Viking's Egypt fleet, joining the sistership Viking Osiris (2021-built) and Viking Ra (2018-built). Like Osiris, Viking Aton (currently under construction) is specifically designed for Nile River navigation and scheduled to debut in September 2022. Viking offered a sneak peek of what passengers can expect with new renderings of one of the staterooms and the boat's pool deck.

The staterooms feature a sleek design and a large double bed. Every stateroom has an outside view so vacationers can enjoy looking out to the Nile.

There are also large suites with 2 full-size rooms and verandas.

The pool deck offers 360-degree views of the landscape.

Other highlights include a Viking Lounge with floor-to-ceiling windows and an Aquavit Terrace where passengers can enjoy al fresco dining.
