MSC Cruises’ latest flagship, MSC Virtuosa, arrived in Southampton England on Thursday, May 13, ready to welcome passengers as cruising restarts in the United Kingdom.

The newest and most innovative vessel in MSC Cruises’ fleet is scheduled to embark on her maiden voyage around the British Isles on May 20.

The first cruise company to restart in the UK, MSC brings vacationers a choice of 3- and 4- night mini cruises starting from May 20. Then from June 5, MSC Virtuosa will commence 7-night sailings. The week-long voyages include calls at isle of Portland and Belfast Northern Ireland, as well as multiple ports of embarkation like Liverpool England and Greenock-Glasgow Scotland, on top of Southampton.

The homeport of MSC Virtuosa for the summer is ABP Southampton, with whom the cruise line recently introduced a long-term partnership. The liner will initially set sail out of City Cruise Terminal, prior to moving to embark passengers from the newly-named Horizon Cruise terminal.

Virtuosa will become the 3rd MSC Cruises ship back at sea when the vessel departs for her maiden voyage on May 20, joining a couple of ships already sailing in the Mediterranean: MSC Grandiosa has been operating in the Mediterranean since August last year, and MSC Seaside welcomed passengers back onboard last week. All cruise ships operate under the same industry-leading health & safety protocol, including universal testing upon embarkation, developed with a Blue Ribbon Panel of experts.
