Scenic Cruises' ship Scenic Eclipse made history with the first submersible dive on South Georgia Island in 40 years, since the Falklands War in 1982.

On January 31, Scenic Eclipse’s 6-guest submarine, Scenic Neptune, took passengers on an underwater exploration in Stromness, South Georgia.

This historic moment aimed to increase guest knowledge and awareness of the delicate ecosystem of the region and took place during the 20-day Antarctica, South Georgia & Falkland Islands cruise which departed Ushuaia (Argentina) on January 17.

Scenic is the first commercial operator to be granted permission to dive submersibles on the islands.
