Denia (port locode ESDNA) is a Western Mediterranean (Costa Blanca) cruise port and city in Spain's Alicante Province, located halfway between Alicante and Valencia. The city covers a total area of approx 66 km2 (26 ml2) and has population around 42,000. Costa Blanca is an approx 200 km (120 mi) long coastline in the province, extending from Denia (north) to Pilar de la Horadada (south). Costa Blanca's well-developed tourism industry attracts annually millions of mainly British and German tourists.

Among Denia's best-known tourist attractions is a castle overlooking the city. Built in the 11th-12th centuries, it offers panoramic views around the sea, the city of Denia and the whole surrounding area. Palau del Governador is a museum inside the castle. In the city is the Museu Etnológico dedicated to its history and culture.

The ferry service to Ibiza Island and other Balearic Islands is regular and scheduled daily. Denia serves as the northern terminus for a scenic railway line from Alicante through the mountains. Popularly known as Limon Express. This unusual tourist railway provides year-round transportation.

Each March in Denia hosts the bonfire festival, when huge papier mache statues are set up throughout the city and then set ablaze. The Bous a la Mar festival is held each July. The highlight of this week-long event is watching bulls run down Marques de Campo (the city's main street) chased into the Mediterranean Sea.

Denia cruise terminal

As Denia is a tendering port, cruise ships anchor off the port and their passengers are transported to the pier via the ship's tender boats.
