Dubuque is a Mississippi River cruise port and city in Iowa USA, witotath l area approx 81 km2 (31 ml2) and population around 60,000 (ranking it state's 10th largest).

Dubuque is at the junction of 3 US states (Illinois, Wisconsin and Iowa) - an US region commonly known as "Tri-State Area". The town serves as region's main industrial, commercial, cultural and educational center. It is one of Iowa's few large cities with hills. As a tourist travel destination, Dubuque features a river location and unique architecture. It also has 5 higher education institutions, making it a major learning and cultural center.

The city has long been a center of manufacturing. By 2005, Dubuque was ranked the state's leading city in job growth and is also ranked USA's 22nd fastest-growing economy. Alongside industry, it has large education, health care, publishing, financial and tourism service sectors. Among the largest local industries are John Deere & Co, IBM, Medical Associates, Mercy Medical Center, Finley Hospital, Q Casino, Diamond Jo Casino, McKesson Corporation (pharmaceuticals), Hartig Drug, Medline Industries (medical supplies), Sedgwick.

Architecture is marked by a number of buildings listed in the USA's National Register of Historic Places, several notable parks (particularly Eagle Point, Mines of Spain State Recreation Area), waterfront area (Ice Harbor), Grand River Event Center, Diamond Jo Casino.

Dubuque is also home of Colts Drum and Bugle Corps (Drum Corps International World Class ensemble). Each summer they tour the USA to attend drum corps competitions. The Colts and Dubuque host "Music on the March" at Dubuque Senior High School, Drum Corps International-sanctioned marching competition. Dubuque is the 2nd-smallest city in the nation to support World Class drum corps.
