Flekkefjord is a port town in Norway's Agder county (Lister district) with municipal population around 9,000. The same-named municipality is Sorlandet's westernmost. The town is located approx midway between Stavanger and Kristiansand. It is interlinked via E39 (1330-km long highway connecting Norway with Denmark) and Sorlandsbanen (Sorlandet railway line that links Oslo with Stavanger).
The municipality was established in 1838. The town is located in a fjord and straddles a narrow sound that connects Flekkefjorden with Grisefjorden. The port (UN LOCODE NOFFD) features small tidal differences and also houses a premium boat marina. Besides the scenic fjords, the local scenery is also highlighted by four lakes (Kumlevollvatnet, Lundevatn, Selura, Sirdalsvatnet), the coasts of Fedafjorden and Listafjorden (with Hidra Island and Andabeloyna Island).
As cruise port, Flekkefjord was included in the Phoenix Reisen schedule as part of the summer Baltic Sea itinerary program of the ship MS Deutschland. Next table shows the 7-day itinerary (Norwegens schonste Seiten / Norway's most beautiful sites) roundtrip from Germany.
