Salay (Sale) is an Irrawaddy) River cruise port and town in Yenangyaung (Magway District, Magway, Burma / Myanmar). Inearest city is Chauk - approx 21 km (13 mi) away.

Salay developed in the 12th-13th-centuries as a satellite of Bagan. Today, the town is still an important religious center. It houses Bagan-era monuments as well as 50 active Buddhist monasteries. Salay is a major center for lacquerware manufacturing.
