Skarsvag is a port village on Mageroya Island, part of Nordkapp Municipality (Finnmark county, Norway), with population under 200. This is Europe's northernmost settlement - located only 14,5 km (9 mi) from Nordkapp (North Cape).
The village is on Mageroya Island's northern coast. The local fishing fleet mainly fishes for cod in the waters located north of the island.
The village has around 60 permanent residents (the rest are fishermen).
Skarsvag is also the world's northernmost settlement accessible through a major road network - European route E69 - connecting Olderfjord with North Cape. The road has length 129 km (80 mi) and contains 5 tunnels with total length approx 16 km (10 mi). Road's longest tunnel (North Cape Tunnel) has length 7 km (4 mi) and depth 212 m (696 ft) below sea level.
