Stechovice (Czechia)

Stechovice is a Vltava River/Danube River cruise port and a market town in Czechia's Central Bohemia (Prague-West District) with population around 2,000. The town is approx 30 km (19 mi) south of Czechia's capital city Prague (downtown).

The settlement was first mentioned in the early-13th century (1209 AD) and received town status in 1932. Vltava River flows through the town, connecting (via Edvard Benes Bridge) to Brunsov. Stechovice is linked to Prague City via road that runs in parallel to the highway Prague-Pribram. Here on Vltava are built two dam reservoirs - Stechovicka (near the town) and Slapska (near Trebenice). The whole area is interwoven with marked tourist routes.
