Carnival Fantasy cabins review
The Carnival cruise ship Fantasy offers a total of 25 wheelchair-accessible cabins for disabled passengers and no Spa cabins with exclusive access to Spa Carnival facilities. There are 19 different cabin categories available.
Connecting rooms ("family cabins") are available in the following categories: 2 beds (4A, 4B, 4C, 4D, 6E, 8B, 8C) and 2-3 beds (6B, 6C, 6D). Handicap-accessible staterooms (25 total) include 1 Grand Suite, 12 Oceanview, and 12 Interior cabins.
Below is an overview of Carnival Fantasy staterooms, including amenities, furniture, and complimentary services:
Carnival Fantasy Suites (Grand, Junior) feature one Queen-size bed, a double sofabed (Grand), or a single sofabed (Junior), a living area (walk-in closet, drawers, vanity table, chair), a private bathroom (WC, shower, whirlpool bathtub, double sinks), and a private balcony (table and patio chairs). Junior Suites (category OB) have an obstructed view.
Oceanview cabins include a large picture window, twin beds (convertible to queen), a bathroom with shower, and a living area. Some cabins are equipped with Pullman bunk beds to accommodate a third or fourth guest.
Interior cabins with windows feature one porthole window (category PT), two twin beds (convertible to queen), a bathroom with shower, and a living area with a vanity and seating. Small Interior cabins have Pullman bunk beds, a vanity with chair, and a bathroom with shower.
All Carnival Fantasy staterooms include standard complimentary amenities such as a living area (vanity, seating), smart HDTV (infotainment system with Internet, on-demand movies, booking and room service features), direct-dial phone, electronic safe, lifejackets (in the closet), hairdryer, en-suite bathroom (WC, shower, single sink vanity, bathrobes, and amenity basket—replenished upon request), Carnival Comfort Bed System, beach towels, mini-bar/fridge, individual air conditioning, and complimentary 24-hour room service. Bibles (Gideon version) are available upon request.
The Carnival Sail & Sign card serves as a cashless onboard credit account and room key. This card allows purchases and gratuities to be charged directly to the passenger’s account. It is issued to all guests (including minors) upon boarding. Account balances can be checked at the Guest Services desk or via the in-cabin smart TV.
TV programming varies depending on the ship’s location and satellite reception. Available channels include ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, CNN (Domestic, International, Español), TCM (classic movies), Boomerang, Cartoon Network, TNT, and TBS. Two complimentary movie channels air a new movie every three hours—one features PG-13-rated favorites, and the other shows family-friendly films (G/PG-rated). Carnival-themed channels include Fun Finds TV, Cruise Director, Fun Aboard, Park West Art, Shore Tours, Ship Position, live camera views, Audible Funtimes, Photo, and Music. Sports channels (ESPN, ESPN2) are shown only at the ship’s Sports Bar and Seaside Theatre. TV connection ports are disabled and cannot be used with personal devices.
Bathroom amenities may vary, so guests are advised to bring their own. Provided items may include toothpaste, mouthwash, dental floss, body lotion, razors, and antacids. A wall-mounted dispenser provides liquid soap and shampoo. Power outlets are located at the vanity—one 110 V outlet (USA) and one 220 V outlet (European). A two-pin outlet in the bathroom is for electric razors only.
The Carnival Comfort beds are custom-made in Europe and include New Generation Pillows (100% cotton), hypoallergenic satin-striped duvets, deluxe cotton sheets, and 8-inch spring mattresses. Alternative non-allergenic bedding includes 100% polyester blankets and sheets, and cotton/polyester pillowcases. Trundle beds do not use Carnival Comfort mattresses.
Carnival-branded beach towels are provided in all staterooms for use ashore and can be purchased for $22. Bathrobes are provided in all suites (2 per cabin). Additional bathrobes are available upon request. In non-suite cabins, bathrobes are offered upon request during turndown service on the first evening. Robes can be purchased for $49 (adult size) or $24 (children’s sizes 2–4 and 6–8 years).
Lifejackets are stored in all cabins (in the closet) for emergency use only and are not permitted at the ship’s pools. Available in adult, child, and infant sizes. Safes are located in the closets and measure approximately 10x9x8 inches (25x23x20 cm). They require a key from the Room Steward. A $40 charge applies if the key is lost or not returned by the last evening. Ship security can open safes if needed.
Mini-bars are stocked with premium liquors ($6–9.25), beer ($6.25), energy drinks ($5), soft drinks ($2), and bottled water ($3.75). In-cabin babysitting is not available. Cribs are provided free upon request. High chairs and booster seats are available in Main Dining Rooms at no extra cost.
Smoking is prohibited in all cabins, suites, and balconies. Designated smoking areas include the Electricity Nightclub (not on the dance floor), Casino (in specified areas), and Casino Bar. Outdoor smoking (including cigars and pipes) is permitted on Deck 11 starboard (midship).
Funville@Sea is a complimentary intranet service offering onboard activity schedules, menus, deck maps, Fun Times (newsletter), FunAshore tour information, Carnival cruise news, weather updates, and an onboard social network. It is accessible via the infotainment system in all cabins and at FunHub stations throughout the ship.
Current gratuity rates are USD 12.95 per person per day for standard cabins and USD 13.95 for suites. Suite perks include priority embarkation/debarkation/tendering, priority main dining room reservations, complimentary bottled water, one complimentary bag of laundry per cruise, and enhanced turndown service.
Since 2017, guests can customize their steward service, choosing morning, evening, or twice-daily service. Additional amenities (bathrobes, pillows, blankets, hangers) and linen change frequency can also be selected. Preferences are indicated on a service card provided in each stateroom. If no selection is made, default service is twice daily.
Detailed cabin furnishings can be found on the Carnival Fantasy cabin plans linked above.
