Carnival Imagination cabins review

The Carnival cruise ship Imagination features a total of 25 wheelchair-accessible cabins (for disabled passengers) and does not offer Spa cabins (with exclusive access to Spa Carnival facilities). There are 19 total cabin categories.

Connecting rooms ("family cabins") are available in the following categories: 2 beds (4A, 4B, 4C, 4D, 6E, 8B, 8C), and 2-3 beds (6B, 6C, 6D). Handicap-accessible staterooms (25 total) include Grand Suite (1), Oceanview (12), and Interior (12).

Below is an overview of Carnival Imagination staterooms, including amenities, furnishings, and complimentary services:

Carnival Imagination Suites (Grand, Junior) are furnished with a queen bed, double sofa bed (Grand) or single sofa bed (Junior), living area (walk-in closet, drawers, vanity table, chair), private bathroom (toilet, shower, whirlpool tub, double sinks), and a private balcony (table and patio chairs). Category OB Junior Suites have an obstructed view.

Oceanview cabins feature a large picture window, twin beds (convertible to a queen), bathroom with shower, and a living area. Some include Pullman bunk beds for a third or fourth guest.

Interior cabins with windows (category PT) have a Porthole Window, two twin beds (convertible to a queen), bathroom with shower, and a living area (vanity and seating). Small Inside cabins have Pullman bunk beds, a vanity and chair, and a bathroom with a shower.

All Carnival Imagination staterooms come standard with a living area (vanity and seating), smart HDTV (infotainment system with internet access, on-demand movies, bookings, and room service ordering), direct-dial phone, electronic safe, lifejackets (in the closet), hairdryer, en-suite bathroom (toilet, shower, single sink vanity, bathrobes, and amenities basket replenished upon request), Carnival Comfort Bed System, beach towels, mini-bar/fridge, individual air conditioning, and complimentary 24-hour room service. Bibles (Gideon version) are available upon request.

The Carnival Sail & Sign card serves as both stateroom key and cashless onboard credit account. It allows purchases and gratuities to be charged directly to a personal account. Cash is only accepted in the casino. Each card is assigned to an individual passenger (including minors) and is issued upon boarding. Balances can be checked at the Guest Services desk or via the in-room smart HDTV.

Depending on satellite reception (based on Carnival Imagination's location), in-cabin TV programming includes: ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, CNN (Domestic, International, Español), TCM (classic movies), cartoons (Boomerang, Cartoon Network), TNT, TBS. Two complimentary movie channels show films every three hours (starting at noon), one with PG-13-rated classics and one with family-friendly G/PG-rated titles. Carnival-themed channels include Fun Finds TV, Cruise Director, Fun Aboard, Park West Art, Shore Tours, Ship Position, live webcam views, Audible Funtimes, Photo, and Music. ESPN and ESPN 2 are available only at the ship’s Sports Bar and Seaside Theatre, not in cabins. All TV input ports are disabled, preventing connections to personal devices (cameras, DVDs, USBs, iPods, gaming consoles, etc).

Bathroom amenities vary, so guests are encouraged to bring their own. Samples may include toothpaste, mouthwash, dental floss, body lotion, razors, and antacids. Shower stalls feature a wall-mounted dispenser with liquid soap and shampoo. Electrical outlets are located in the vanity area: one 110V (USA) and one 220V (European). The bathroom plug is suitable only for electric razors.

The Carnival Comfort beds are European-manufactured exclusively for the cruise line and include trademarked “New Generation Pillows” (100% cotton), hypoallergenic duvet, satin-striped cover and pillowcases, deluxe cotton sheets, and 8-inch (20 cm) spring mattresses. Non-allergenic bedding options include polyester blankets, 60/40 cotton-polyester sheets and pillowcases, and New Generation Pillows. Trundle beds do not feature Carnival Comfort mattresses.

Carnival-branded beach towels are provided in every cabin and may be taken ashore. They are also available for purchase ($22). Bathrobes (2) are provided in suites, and additional robes can be requested. In other cabin types, bathrobes are available upon request during turndown service on the first night. Bathrobes can be purchased for $49 (adult) and $24 (children, sizes 2–4 and 6–8).

Life jackets are for emergency use only (not permitted at ship pools) and are located in cabin closets. They come in adult, child, and infant sizes. Safes are also located in closets, with dimensions approximately 10x9x8 inches (25x23x20 cm). Safes can be accessed using any magnetic stripe card—preferably not a valid credit card or ID but rather an expired or rewards card. Some safes use keypad entry. All safes can also be opened by ship security.

Mini-bars in cabins and suites are stocked with premium liquors ($6–$9.25), beer ($6.25), energy drinks ($5), soft drinks ($2), and bottled water ($3.75). In-cabin babysitting is not available. Cribs are complimentary upon request. High chairs and booster seats are provided in Main Dining Rooms free of charge.

Smoking is not permitted in cabins, suites, or on their balconies. Designated smoking areas (including for e-cigarettes) include Illusions Nightclub (except on the dance floor), Casino (designated sections), and Casino Bar. Cigar and pipe smoking is allowed only in designated outdoor areas on Deck 10 starboard (main pool area).

Funville@Sea is a complimentary intranet service providing onboard activity schedules, bar and restaurant menus, deck plans, Fun Times newspaper, FunAshore tour guides, Carnival news, itinerary-related weather, and an onboard social network for messaging fellow passengers. It is accessible through the in-room infotainment system and FunHub stations around the ship.

As of the last update, Carnival Imagination gratuities were USD 12.95 per person per day for standard cabins and USD 13.95 for suites. Suite perks include priority embarkation, debarkation, and tendering, priority dining reservations, complimentary bottled water, one free bag of laundry per cruise, and enhanced turndown service.

Since 2017, Carnival offers a program allowing guests to customize steward service by choosing morning, evening, or twice-daily cleaning. Guests can also select additional amenities such as bathrobes, extra pillows, blankets, and hangers, and specify how often bed linens should be changed. Preferences can be indicated on a service card left in each stateroom. If no selection is made, default service is twice daily.

You can find detailed furniture layouts on the Carnival Cruise Line Carnival Imagination cabin plans shown in the table above.
