All Scenic Opal cabins have a maximum capacity of 2 guests per cabin. With the exception of the lower (Jewel Deck 1) cabins (located at water level), all other staterooms (80%) are balcony cabins. They are advertised by Scenic Tours as “Suite” accommodations with “Sun Lounges”. Each of these features a private (step-out) balcony for all-weather use. The total number of cabin categories is 16.

- All Scenic Opal rooms feature queen beds (some convertible to twin beds) with deluxe Egyptian cotton bedding sets (sheets and duvets). Single Suite cabin #224 has a single bed. Other features include bedside tables, a private en-suite luxury bathroom (WC, sink, shower cubicle, lighted mirror, color lighting system, luxury bath products including shampoo, liquid soap, conditioner, and body lotion), sliding-door closets (hangers, drawers, shelves), a flat HDTV (linked to a Mac mini computer with infotainment system and “View From the Bridge” real-time webcam views), desk, bookcase, leather stool, safe, mini-bar (complimentary and restocked daily with soda, juice, sparkling water, liqueur, and snacks), iPod station (with clock), hairdryer, bathrobes, slippers, umbrella, individual climate control, and 220V power outlets (European and Australian sockets; American passengers require adapters).
- Jewel Deck rooms feature fixed (non-opening) picture windows located high on the riverside wall.
- All Suites feature floor-to-ceiling sliding doors opening to a private, full-size veranda furnished with a round table and wicker chairs. These new-design balconies are widely known as the “Sun Lounge” balcony. This is a glass-enclosed sitting area (part of the cabin) located behind opening floor-to-ceiling windows, with sheer and blackout curtains behind the windows. The “Sun Lounge” area can easily transform into an outdoor veranda at the push of a button.
- Suite bathrooms feature large glass-enclosed showers with doors.
- Junior Suites include bathtubs and expanded vanity sink areas with mirrored cabinets.
- Royal Panorama Suites are the largest accommodations on the ship, featuring aft-wall windows, a large sitting area with couch, and a bathroom with separate shower and bathtub.
- Royal Suites include a large sitting area and bathrooms with separate bathtub and shower, plus ample cabinet space.
- The ship has only one single cabin. Its size is the same as a balcony suite and it is available for booking at single-occupancy cruise rates.

- Complimentary butler service is provided to all passengers and includes shoeshine service, shore excursion arrangements, Spa/Sauna reservations, and drinks. Additional perks for guests in all balcony cabin grades include cocktail party arrangements and morning coffee/tea service.
- Diamond Deck Suite guests receive additional perks, including room service breakfast and complimentary pressing (2 items daily).
- Royal Suite butlers also provide luggage unpacking/repacking, complimentary laundry/pressing, and in-room dining service.
- Laundry and pressing services (for a fee) are available to guests in Standard cabins. There are no self-service laundry facilities on the ship.
