In an official ceremony on Friday, April 29, at Port Los Angeles (California USA), TV stars and show hosts united as godparents and named Princess Cruises' newest ship, Discovery Princess.

The godparents include fashion designer Randy Fenoli, chef Alex Guarnaschelli, special effects designer/fabricator Adam Savage, and real estate broker/flipper extraordinaire Page Turner.

Standing together at the Retreat Pool on the Discovery Princess' open deck with the Captain Gennaro Arma, they said:

“We name this ship Discovery Princess. May God bless her and all who sail on her.”

The godparents then sent a giant Nebuchadnezzar-size champagne bottle against the cruise ship for the celebratory smash, welcoming Discovery Princess into the Princess Cruises fleet.

The “Discover Our World” ceremony blended maritime tradition with contemporary elements and celebrated the line’s exclusive, 7-year Discovery at SEA program.

The 2021-built/2022-inaugurated Discovery Princess cruise ship is the 6th Royal-Class vessel in the Princess Cruises fleet, with fleetmates and sisterships Royal Princess (2013), Regal Princess (2014), Majestic Princess (2017), Sky Princess (2019), and Enchanted Princess (2020).
