KfW IPEX-Bank GmbH (Germany) revealed it would provide financing in the amount of EUR 30 million for TT-Line’s new dual-fuel cruiseferry Nils Holgersson. The newbuild ferryboat is one of two "green ships" delivered to TT-Line in 2022 - together with Peter Pan. With LOA length 230 m and beam/width 31 m, each of these RoPax ships (carrying wheeled cargo and passengers) has passenger capacity 800 and cargo capacity 200+ trucks/semi-trailers.

The cruiseferries are LNG-powered (by liquefied natural gas) with powerplants from MAN Energy Solutions SE and other systems from Swedish, German, and other European suppliers.

In addition to the environmentally friendly dual-fuel engines (running on both LNG and MGO/Marine Gasol), TT-Line has already used with Bio-LNG, they are both equipped with further technologies and innovative solutions, such as 32 charging stations for electric cars and heat-insulating windows.

A low-friction underwater hull coating and streamlined hull shape ensure high energy efficiency.

The sistership Peter Pan was delivered in November 2022. TT-Line's two Green Ships are currently deployed on the Sweden-Poland ferry route Trelleborg-Swinoujscie (crossing time 6 hours).
