The UK-based company and travel brand Fred Olsen Cruise Lines returned to Newcastle upon Tyne (England) for a spring and summer season offering departures from Port Tyne with its flagship Bolette for the first time.
MS Bolette set sail on her inaugural voyage from Newcastle "In Search of the Northern Lights in Nine Nights", visiting destinations in Norway, Iceland, Holland, Baltics (Latvia, Estonia), Sweden, and the European Arctic.
The milestone was marked with a plaque exchange ceremony from the Port of Tyne to Capt. Mikael Degerlund before Bolette setting sail.
Clare Ward, Director of Product & Customer Service at Fred. Olsen said they had been offering sailings from Newcastle for many years, and so it was great to be back with their beautiful flagship Bolette.
“Guests joining us from the city can look ahead to some wonderful adventures, including opportunities to witness Holland’s tulips in bloom on sailings to Amsterdam, explore many Nordic capitals including Stockholm, Oslo and Copenhagen, or venture off the beaten track on a 23-night adventure into the Arctic.
