Aurora Expeditions Australia (fleet) unveiled its 2024-2025 Antarctic program of 25 voyages ranging from 9- to 23 days in duration. These voyages will take travelers to explore the Antarctic Peninsula, Falkland Islands UK, South Georgia UK, and the Chilean Fjords/Patagonia.
One of the highlights of the upcoming season is the new "In Shackleton's Footsteps" itinerary, a 20-day adventure that retraces the historic voyage of the Endurance (1912-built three-masted barquentine). This voyage will venture into the Weddell Sea, visiting Elephant Island( where Shackleton and his crew made landfall after 497 days at sea) and then continue across the Scotia Sea to South Georgia (where Shackleton's journey reached its conclusion). This expedition departs from Ushuaia Argentina on March 16th and returns on April 4th, 2025.
Another exciting addition to Aurora Expeditions' offerings is the visit to the Chilean Fjords, a breathtaking maze of waterways teeming with bird and sea life and surrounded by majestic snow-capped mountains. The Chilean Fjords are featured in two itineraries: a 14-day fly/sail Antarctic Explorer voyage sailing from March 1 to 15, 2025, and a 13-day Spirit of Antarctica expedition sailing from March 13 to 25, 2025.
Photography enthusiasts of all levels will also be delighted with the immersive 13-day Spirit of Antarctica voyage, which is a dedicated photographic expedition departing on November 12, 2024. This trip offers opportunities to learn photography secrets, tips, and tricks through informative lectures and off-ship exploring, led by professional photographers on board the ship.
