The renowned RoPax E-Flexer class, celebrated for its success, is expanding its fleet with a new vessel specifically tailored/optimized for Mediterranean navigation.

Stena Line confirms the order for the 13th vessel of this innovative class, uniquely designed for larger, flexible, and environmentally friendly operations.

Corsica Linea is at the helm of refining the design for long-term deployment in the Mediterranean. This marks a pivotal moment as the vessel becomes the first of its kind in the region. The Chinese shipbuilder CMI Jingling (Weihai) will continue to bring this vision to life, with delivery scheduled for the first quarter of 2026.

The E-Flexer ferry for Corsica has LOA length 666 ft (203 m), and passenger capacity 1000 and cargo capacity 2500 lanemeters (for wheeled freight). The ship will be deployed on the Marseille France-Corsica route.

Introduced by Stena Line in 2019 and 2020, the E-Flexer class has two ferries currently navigating the Irish Seas. With 9 vessels already delivered, additional ships are on long-term charter to Brittany Ferries and DFDS Seaways.

Tailored to meet individual customer requirements, both commercially and technically, each E-Flexer vessel showcases an optimized design encompassing hull, propellers, and rudders, ensuring they lead in sustainability, performance, and cost-effectiveness. While the initial five vessels had standard propulsion, subsequent adaptations, starting with the 6th vessel for Brittany Ferries, include LNG fuel options. The vessels' lengths vary based on intended deployment, ranging from 38,000 to ~45,000 gross tons.
