HAL-Holland America Line has published the itineraries for its 2027 Grand Voyages, offering travelers the opportunity to either complete a 129-day circumnavigation on the 2027 Grand World Voyage or a 70-day regional exploration on the Grand South America & Antarctica Voyage. The details were disclosed by Holland America Line president Beth Bodensteiner to guests aboard the 2025 Grand World Voyage.
The Grand World Voyage will operate on ms Volendam, and the Grand South America & Antarctica Voyage on ms Zaandam. Both vessels, noted for their mid-size design, are capable of accessing ports not typically reached by larger ships, creating opportunities for a more intimate and secluded cruising experience.
Each itinerary includes exclusive ports of call unique to the Grand Voyages program. The Grand World Voyage, departing roundtrip from Fort Lauderdale on January 5, 2027, will visit 53 ports in 28 countries, featuring overnight stays at 7 locations. Notably, it will call at 19 ports exclusive to the Grand Voyages, including Georgetown, Ascension Island, and Jamestown, St. Helena—remote South Atlantic islands of historical significance, particularly linked to the exile of Napoleon Bonaparte.
Highlights of the Grand World Voyage include passage through South America’s west coast, a crossing of the South Pacific toward Australia, and exploration across Southeast Asia. Following a journey around Cape Agulhas, the itinerary continues up the west coast of Africa and into Europe, before concluding with an Atlantic crossing. Ports of call feature access to 81 UNESCO World Heritage Sites, including the Taj Mahal, Westminster Abbey, Mont-Saint-Michel, and the Great Barrier Reef.
Meanwhile, the 2027 Grand South America & Antarctica Voyage will sail roundtrip from Fort Lauderdale beginning January 3, 2027. The 70-day itinerary includes 31 ports across 13 countries and offers a 4-day Holland America Line Antarctica Experience. After transiting the Panama Canal and calling along South America’s west coast, Zaandam will navigate the Chilean fjords and glaciers, cross the Drake Passage, and explore the Falklands and South America's east coast before returning north via the Caribbean.
Key highlights include calls at ports exclusive to the Grand Voyage program, such as Robinson Crusoe Island off Chile, and scenic cruising opportunities through locations such as the Beagle Channel and Pio XI Glacier. Guests will also have access to 28 UNESCO sites, including Machu Picchu and the Galápagos Islands, and overnight stays in major cities including Buenos Aires, Montevideo, and Rio de Janeiro.
Both Grand Voyages are crafted to provide extended port visits, extensive cultural immersion, and unique historical experiences, continuing Holland America Line’s tradition of delivering in-depth global exploration cruises.
