NCL-Norwegian Cruise Line has announced scheduled drydock refurbishments for its vessels Norwegian Epic and Pride of America, to be completed in time for the 2025 summer season.
These upgrades aim to enhance onboard amenities and expand accommodation options for guests.
Norwegian Epic is set to undergo a 3-week dry dock concluding on May 8, 2025. Post-refurbishment, the ship will feature a new hot tub on Deck 18 and a redesigned Kids’ Aqua Park, replacing the previous SplashGolf area. Additionally, the Vibe Beach Club, an adults-only outdoor venue, will be expanded to include an extra hot tub, more lounge chairs, and new private cabanas. The ship will also see the addition of 8 new staterooms, comprising both balcony and ocean view categories.
Following these enhancements, Norwegian Epic will commence a series of 9 to 11-day cruises from Rome (Civitavecchia) Italy, to various Mediterranean and Aegean/Greek Isles destinations, including Santorini, Mykonos, Valletta, Naples, Catania, and Livorno. After the European season, the vessel will reposition to San Juan, Puerto Rico, to offer 7-day Southern Caribbean itineraries visiting ports such as Tortola, St. John's, Bridgetown, Castries, Philipsburg, and St. Thomas.
Pride of America is scheduled for drydocking between May 3 and May 31, 2025. The refurbishment will introduce a new Starbucks location within The Capitol Atrium (Deck 5) and add a pickleball court within the existing sports area. Accommodation upgrades include the addition of 12 new Club Balcony Suites and three inside staterooms on Deck 12. The ship's youth facilities, Splash Academy and Entourage, will be relocated to Deck 6, previously occupied by the S/S America Library, Internet Café, and Chapel. A new Library and Card Room will be established in the space formerly known as Shuffles Card Room.
Upon completion of the dry dock, Pride of America will resume its year-round, 7-day inter-island cruises from Honolulu, offering nearly 100 hours of port time across 4 Hawaiian islands, including overnight stays in Maui and Kauai.
