MSC Cruises has opened reservations for its Summer 2027 Alaska voyages, to be operated by MSC Poesia from Seattle beginning April 26th, 2027. The vessel will undertake 7-night sailings through some of Alaska’s most striking coastal regions, departing each Monday through September of that year.

Ahead of this deployment, MSC Poesia is scheduled to receive one of the most extensive refurbishments in the company’s history. The refit will introduce the exclusive MSC Yacht Club, two new specialty dining venues—Butcher’s Cut and Kaito Sushi Bar—the All-Stars Sports Bar, an enhanced MSC Aurea Spa, and an upgraded MSC Gym powered by Technogym®. Passengers will experience these new amenities during the ship’s inaugural Alaska season in 2026, as well as the newly announced 2027 program now open for booking.

Lynn Torrent, President of MSC Cruises North America, noted that Alaska remains one of the most sought-after cruise destinations worldwide. She explained that the addition of a second Alaska season reflects the strong demand from guests and travel partners, emphasizing that the blend of European sophistication and American comfort aboard MSC Poesia will offer travelers a distinctive experience.

The 2027 itineraries will call at a selection of Alaska’s most celebrated ports, including Ketchikan, Icy Strait Point, Tracy Arm, and Juneau, along with a stop in Victoria, British Columbia. Each destination promises opportunities for scenic exploration, encounters with local wildlife, and insights into Alaska Native heritage. MSC Cruises’ curated shore excursions will cater to a range of interests, from culinary exploration and wilderness adventures to tranquil wildlife observation.

Onboard, guests will sail through glacier-carved waterways surrounded by towering cliffs and unspoiled landscapes while enjoying MSC Cruises’ hallmark hospitality and cosmopolitan atmosphere.

Before commencing her Alaska season, MSC Poesia will reposition from Miami to Seattle on an 18-night voyage departing April 8th, 2027. The journey will feature a Panama Canal transit, offering travelers an exceptional passage between oceans.

Among the highlights of the Alaska itineraries are:

  • Ketchikan, celebrated as Alaska’s premier fishing town, where visitors can sample fresh salmon, admire historic Creek Street, and view 19th-century totem poles.
  • Icy Strait Point, Alaska’s first Indigenous-owned cruise destination, located near the Tlingit village of Hoonah, offers opportunities for bear and whale watching, zip lining, cultural performances, and local cuisine within a restored 1912 salmon cannery.
  • Tracy Arm, a dramatic fjord flanked by cliffs rising 3,000 feet, leads to the brilliant blue faces of the Sawyer Glaciers, where guests may witness waterfalls, wildlife, and floating ice formations along the narrow waterway.
  • Juneau, the state capital accessible only by air or sea, offers a combination of gold rush history, mountainous scenery, and panoramic views from the Goldbelt Tram ascending Mount Roberts.
  • Victoria, British Columbia, surrounded by the forests of Vancouver Island, welcomes travelers with its British charm, vibrant gardens, and landmarks such as the Parliament Buildings and the Empress Hotel. The city also boasts rich marine life and one of the highest concentrations of restaurants in Canada.
